-ZyXELNET- Echo-definition
---
General rules for all echos:
- We are an international network, so the language used in all international
echo-areas is _english_.
- These areas are strictly ZyXEL-Net related and may only be routed to
ZyXELNet members.
---
Echo-Areas are defined as follows:
COORD.ZYX - Coordination-area of ZyXELNET
always linked to all *Cs, HOSTs and HUBs inside ZyXELNET
Not to be forwarded to sysops, points and BBS-users
Topic: Administration of ZyXELNET
SYSOP.ZYX - Sysop-Area of ZyXELNET
always linked to all sysops listed in the actual
ZyXELNET - nodelist
may be linked read-only to points
Not to be forwarded to BBS-users
Topic: Sysop's chat and discussing - area
FIRMWARE.ZYX - Open conference about ZyXEL-firmware
linked to all ZyXELNET - systems and online-users
Topic: Troubleshooting, informations about ROM-releases for
ZyXEL-modems.
HARDWARE.ZYX - Open conference about ZyXEL-hardware and other computer -
ZyXEL related stuff
linked to all ZyXELNET-systems and online-users.
Topic: Troubleshooting, informations about hardware..
COMMERCE.ZYX - Open conference about commercial advertisments for ZyXEL
hard- and software. Non-commercial-advertisments are allowed,
but have to be signed as such.
linked to all ZyXELNET-systems and online-users.
Topic: - Offers and requests regarding ZyXEL hardware.
- Offers and requests reg. commercial software.
SOFTWARE.ZYX - Open conference about ZyXEL-software and other software
for use with ZyXEL-modems;
linked to all ZyXELNET-systems and online-users
Topic: - Software-related discussions;
- Hatchinfo's (Main Hatch-Systems only)
- Software-requests (PD, Share- and Freeware only)
Other echo-areas may be installed on major request, ask your regional Host
about them.
Following local needs the region- and/or net-echo-coordinators may install
other echos locally.
An echoarea named "TEST" on local base is highly recommanded to keep tests,
where they belong: local.
---
Routing and spreading of ZyXELNET-Echos:
All ZyXELNET-echos shall be spreaded in a "top-down" way.
Mailexchange between zones is to be handled central,
hosts poll the zc, hubs poll the host, nodes poll the hub.
If there are reasons to change this way at any place, it may be changed in
accordance with all parties involved.
---
Acting in case of hurts of these definitions:
hurts of these definitions shall be defended in a "down-top" way.
A node guides his points, a hub guides his nodes, a host guides his hubs,
a zc guides his hosts.
If any conflict can not be solved in this direct way, the problem is to be
lanced to the next higher level.
Have fun in ZyXELNET,
Manfred Schramm
